Popular international exhibitions are shown along side the Museum’s outstanding collection of more than 17,000 works of American, Asian, European, Latin American, Western American, modern and contemporary art, and fashion design. A vibrant destination for over fifty years, Phoenix Art Museum presents festivals, live performances, independent art films and educational programs that enlighten, entertain and stimulate.
Phoenix Art Museum believes one of its primary functions is to make art accessible and fun to school children of all ages. We offer a variety of outreach programs to accommodate educators with unique needs and constraints, from school visits, to Museum tours, to supplementing classroom resources.
Docent Led Tours
Tours are led by volunteers (docents) trained to speak knowledgeably about objects in the Museum’s collection in ways appropriate for the age of those in your group. Classes will be divided into groups of 12-15. Required chaperone to student ratio is 1:10 for grades K-3, 1:15 for grades 4-12.
Visitors will also enjoy PhxArtKids an interactive space for children, vibrant photography exhibitions through the Museum’s landmark partnership with the Center for Creative Photography, the lushly landscaped Sculpture Garden, dining the Art Museum cafe, and shopping at The Museum Store.
